Optician – Invision Eyecare (Full-time)

We are searching for a full-time licensed Optician with experience to join our health care team. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Invision Eyecare in Peterborough, Ontario is a busy 3 doctor practice that was voted as Reader's Choice 2021 Winner - #1 in Optometry Services, #1 in Optical Store in the Peterborough market. With over 25 years of Patient Care, our team cares about ensuring that patients receive best in class care and products.

With 4 exam lanes and ample space throughout the practice, we are well positioned to continue to grow along with our expanding local community.

Invision Eyecare is situated in the beautiful community of Peterborough – we are located along Landsdowne Street, a major commercial roadway, in a plaza that has plenty of parking.

Position Overview:

  • Work in the optical gallery to provide outstanding healthcare
  • Help our patients see their best by assisting them to select frames and lenses appropriate to their prescription and lifestyle
  • Solve any problems patients may encounter and ensure they are pleased with their eyewear
  • Be a team player and assist other team members to ensure great workflow
  • Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge
  • Motivated to stay current with technology and trends
  • Troubleshoot issues

Main Responsibilities:

  • Properly taking spectacle measurements and dispensing
  • Adjust and fit eyewear correctly
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards
  • Placing optical orders and verification
  • Educating patients on eye health and related issues
  • Insurance and provincial health care billings
  • Accurate and careful handling of patient files
  • Ordering and tracking of optical inventory
  • Maintain cleanliness of store and displays
  • Data entry, completing reports, verifying data and files
