Elite Vision Therapy Centre is a family-oriented Optometry clinic in Etobicoke. We strive to provide our patients an outstanding eye care experience from start to finish, while offering fashion forward eye wear. We strongly believe in educating our patients about quality lenses and designer frames to choose from, we are proud to provide quality care for all our patients.

We are a full scope optometry clinic currently looking for an individual to fulfill the role full-time in our Optical Department at our practice. We are hoping for someone that is preferably an Optician or Student Optician with experience. The ideal candidate must have optical experience that includes fitting patients with frames and lenses. As we have a high volume of pediatric patients, the applicant must work well with children, as well as patients of all ages. Duties will include, but are not limited to, selecting frames based on patient needs/doctor recommendations, educating patients on lenses, ordering frames, neutralizing lenses/glasses, performing quality checks on glasses, edging in our lab, booking appointments, and addressing patient inquiries/issues with their glasses or lenses. The role will primarily be in the dispensary and lab.

This full-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about a career in the optical industry and looking to start right away.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements

• Enter lab orders and accurate patient information as well as supply correct forms

• Verify prescription eyeglasses and notify patients when eyewear is ready

• Dispense, adjust and repair eyewear

• Admin tasks: scheduling appointments for pickups and fittings

• Educate patients on proper eyewear use and care of new glasses

• Troubleshoot and problem solve eyewear concerns and issues to ensure patient satisfaction

• Work closely with doctors, vision therapists, and team members to ensure patient satisfaction

• Perform monthly inventory checks and accounts receivable balances

• Perform diagnostic testing and other pre-exam testing as required

• Update electronic records, file patient files and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned by the doctors

• 1-2 years of Optical experience is an asset

• Working towards Optician License is an asset

• Great with fast-paced clinic schedules

Hours will be Tuesdays – Saturdays and will include some evenings.
