The Role
As a licensed optician your role is to provide exceptional customer service and eye care to every customer, Living our culture, beliefs and value. We value long-lasting customer relationships and as such responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
Dispensing
- Transpose customer prescriptions
- Dispense prescriptions according to patient’s needs
- Interpret prescriptions based on patients' feedback
- Confidently dispense quality inspected eyewear
- Strong understanding of the anatomy of the eye and ability to discuss with patients/customers
- Recommend the most suitable glasses, styles, colours, and lenses to customers
- Assist in submitting third party benefit claims
- Remake, adjust and repair frames
- Follow up on outstanding customer orders
- Conduct pre-testing
Qualification
- Provincial licence or certification by a nationally or provincially recognized opticianry college as an optician
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational ability
- Delight even the most challenging customers
- Ability to use initiative and adapt to different situations
- Flexibility to work mall hours including evenings and weekends
