Receptionist/Optometric Assistant

We are a busy optometry practice located in downtown Toronto. Our office has been open for 10 years. We are a growing practice looking for a new team member to join our team and grow with us!

We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and want our team members to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all of our patients.

Receptionist duties and responsibilities:

  • Scheduling appointments for patients
  • Processing insurance claims and invoices
  • Organizing files for billing, customer and client records, etc.
  • Responding to all customer inquiries in a polite and timely manner
  • COVID 19 screening questions for all visitors coming into the office, checking temperature before entering the clinic, sanitizing and cleaning

  • Able to interact clearly with patients and other staff
  • Organizational skills - keep accurate records
  • Multi-tasker
  • Time management skills
  • Patience and listening skills - to respond appropriately and interact positively with patients
  • Interpersonal skills to create a pleasant experience for all patients, such as being personable and attentive
  • Bilingual - As part of a multicultural community, the ability to speak a second language is an asset (Spanish, French, Cantonese etc.)

We are looking for someone who has some receptionist experience but we are also willing to train. We want someone who is outgoing and friendly, who is comfortable talking on the phone with patients, and is pleasant to be around. Looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and a multi-tasker who is calm under pressure.
