Our team of Optometrists, Opticians, Podiatrists and Chiropodists is committed to delivering excellent eye health and foot care services through industry leading diagnostic systems.

Sight N’ Steps is currently looking for an Optical Department Manager for our Pickering location. The suitable candidate will be fully licensed by the College of Opticians of Ontario and have at least Three years of experience as an optician.

Job Description:

The Optical Department Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the department including:

‐ Scheduling appointments for the Optometrists and Podiatrist

‐ Pretesting patients and provide doctor support

‐ Fitting, Adjustments and dispensing eye glasses, and contact lenses

‐ Customer service and others as required

‐ Profit & loss accountability

‐ Labor management

‐ Scheduling

‐ Meeting sales targets

‐ Communication with the store Director

‐ Participation in store meetings

‐ Expected to be flexible & work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends (retail hours)

‐ Please also refer to the Optical Scheduled Hours Policy for Optician schedule requirements - We are open regular mall hours, including evenings and weekends.

Job Qualifications:

‐ Must be licensed in the province of Ontario with a minimum of three (3) years Optical


‐ Management experience an asset

‐ Has cash register experience

‐ Fluent in English

‐ Entry level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook

‐ Outgoing – comfortable approaching people & engaging customers

‐ Professional looking – presentable

‐ Organized

‐ Pays attention to detail

‐ Can work independently

‐ Willing to work in a team environ
